Welcome to PaisaGuru ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We respect the privacy of our users in India and comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

We strictly adhere to the principle of Data Minimization and Local Processing. We explicitly guarantee that your Raw SMS Messages and Call Logs are processed LOCALLY on your device and are NEVER uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
1. Information We Collect & How We Use It
A. Information You Provide (Uploaded to Cloud)
To enable the "Cloud Sync" feature, allowing you to switch devices without losing data, the following data is encrypted and stored on our secure servers:
- Account Data: Phone number (used as your unique ID).
- Ledger Entries: The financial data you record or confirm (e.g., Amount: ₹500, Category: Food, Date: 2023-10-01, Notes, Location Tag).
- Profile Picture: The photo you capture via camera for your avatar.
B. Permissions & Local Processing (NOT Uploaded)
We request sensitive permissions solely to automate features on your device. This data DOES NOT leave your phone.
1. SMS Permission (READ_SMS)
- Purpose: Automated Expense/Income Tracking.
- How it works: Our algorithm scans your inbox locally to identify transactional SMS from banks/wallets. It extracts the amount and merchant name to create a draft entry.
- Privacy: We DO NOT read personal SMS. We DO NOT upload raw SMS content.
2. Call Log Permission (READ_CALL_LOG)
- Purpose: Voice OTP Verification & Security.
- How it works: Used to automatically detect the incoming verification call to confirm your identity. It also ensures the SIM card receiving the code is physically present on the device (Device Unity Check).
- Privacy: We DO NOT upload your call history or contact list.
3. Installed Application List (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)
- Purpose: Security & Environment Integrity.
- How it works: We scan the list of installed apps locally to detect potential malware, fraudsters, or high-risk apps that could compromise your financial data.
4. Location & Camera
- Location: Used only when you choose to tag a location to a transaction.
- Camera: Used only to take your profile picture.
5. Device Information
- We collect basic device info (Model, OS Version) to troubleshoot crashes and ensure app compatibility.
2. Data Storage and Security
We use industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our cloud servers. Your financial ledger data is stored securely and is only accessible by you via your verified phone number.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: If required by Indian law enforcement agencies.
- Service Providers: With OTP providers strictly for delivering login codes.
4. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You can delete your account and all cloud data by contacting our support team.
